For Photographers

I am a current member of the AIPP and an award winning newborn, children’s and family photographer specialising in posed and creative photography.

I offer one on one (in person) and small group workshops (1-3 people) to photographers who are already working with newborns and have started businesses.  I am located in South Australia and offer these workshops to photographers living outside a 70km radius from my studio in Blackwood Park Estate (Craigburn Farm), SA.

The topics I cover can be tailored to your individual needs so we can spend more time working on certain areas if you need.  Editing is completed in ACR and Photoshop CS6.

The cost for a full day of mentoring from 9am until 6pm is $1500 per person and $100 discount per person applies for a maximum of 2-3 people attending on the same day. Includes early lunch prior to client’s arrival, drinks and snacks.  Half of the cost is due to book the in person workshop, with the other half due 3 weeks prior to the day.  I require around 3 weeks advance notice to book due to the model call, my current workload, and for the preparation needed to provide you with a satisfying workshop.  The booking fee/workshop cost would be strictly non refundable once paid, to cover the day to be allocated to the workshop in place of my usual bookings and to ensure the model call client is supplied with work.

An example of what I would normally cover is as follows:

  • Client liaison and consultation prior to the session

  • Portfolio review, CC and discussion about concerns & goals

  • Managing client expectations

  • Choosing props that work for your style and business

  • Session and prop preparation based on client’s preferences

  • Working with Studio Lighting, settings and angles

  • Newborn session with both prop and beanbag posing, posing with siblings and parents

  • Shooting for variety and angles/composition.

  • Working with flowers and leaves

  • Shooting composites and planning for composites with digitals

  • Transition from prop to prop for a smooth workflow

  • Posing in pots/bowls and nests

  • Posing with siblings & family members

  • Storage of files/backup

  • Editing in ACR and Photoshop – will cover skin tones, colour manipulation, composites and bringing photos to life

  • Colour management

  • Professional printing and product choices for packages

  • Ongoing support via mentoring online for 2 months after the workshop (between the hours of 9-5 CST)

Students are required to sign a non compete contract for teaching purposes which will be in effect for 1 year.
